Michael Leak Counselling, Mediation & Consulting
Intro
Life, relationships and work can become complicated. Sometimes there is a very clear problem that needs attention. At other times, you may simply know that something is not working as it should, but you are not quite sure what needs to change.
I work with individuals, couples, families, leaders and organisations through counselling, Family Law Mediation and Workplace Wellness consulting. I am based in Hout Bay, Cape Town, and also work with clients online across South Africa.
My work is different in each of these settings, but there is a common thread: helping people understand what is happening, have conversations that may have become difficult or avoided, and work out what needs to happen next.
Counselling
I provide individual, relationship, family and grief counselling for people dealing with anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, family conflict, loss, life changes or a more general sense of feeling stuck.
Counselling can help us understand the patterns behind what we are experiencing and begin finding different ways of responding to ourselves, our circumstances and the people who matter to us.

Family Law Mediation
Family Law Mediation provides a structured way for separating or divorcing couples and families to work through practical decisions without every disagreement becoming a legal battle.
I mediate matters including divorce settlement agreements, parenting plans, maintenance arrangements and parental responsibilities and rights, with particular attention to the best interests of children where they are involved.
Consulting
My consulting work is focused on Workplace Wellness, bringing together counselling, mediation and facilitation with more than two decades of management and leadership experience.
I work with organisations, leaders, teams and employees around workplace counselling, employee wellbeing, leadership support, team engagement, organisational change, workplace conflict, communication and company culture.
The work recognises both sides of organisational life: people need support and healthy working relationships, while organisations still need people to perform and deliver.
